halloween

i hope you had a fun and spooky halloween.

it was pretty quiet and scary around here last night, home alone, without anyone, all by myself.

paul was traveling, i didn't see hide nor hair of gabi (dressed as a kangaroo) since dropping her off at school for early morning basketball practice and sab left to hand out candy to trick or treaters at a friend's house.  i've mentioned before that in all of the years we've lived here, we have never had a trick or treater.  too dark, driveways too long, houses too far apart.

it was also very windy.  so with the howling and the outline of those bare, swaying branches

while watching scary movies solo, i think i had about the most frightening halloween in years!

check out one of my chubby, squirrely friends enjoying the remains of last sunday's rhubarb cake.  got to store up for the long winter ahead.
